Doing renovations
All changes to the external structure of your house or garage, or to a fence, unless they are a repair or replacement that does not change the initial appearance of the structure, must gain approval of the Executive Committee. Internal changes to your house, such as a replacement bathroom or kitchen, do not need approval of the EC.
Our Structures Guidelines assist unit owners and occupiers to understand those features which give the village its unique and desirable character. It is important for anyone undertaking alterations to their unit or garage to be familiar with the approvals processes required before work can proceed. Most of the processes are requirements under ACT Legislation.
Urambi Village has been nominated to the ACT Heritage Register. Until such time as that nomination has been dealt with by ACT Heritage, Urambi Village is regarded as being listed on the ACT Heritage Register. That means any modifications to houses requiring a Development Approval will be passed to ACT Heritage during the DA approval process.

Structures approvals
All external structural changes to houses in Urambi must meet our structures guidelines, and must go through an approval process. Over the years much of the documentation for approvals for each house has been lost, although some can be found in minutes of EC meetings, and in the structures reports in AGM minutes. From 2016 a brief record has been kept. From late 2020, more extensive records of structures approvals will be kept on this page.
